Abstract:
A multi-purpose polymer derived from a special kind of bacteria has been mode. It was originally mode to treat water pollution caused by oil and oil spills. However, the new-made product has been tested later and shown to have other industrial and environmental uses. As experiments showed, the product can be effectively used as an industrial cleaner to treat waters. and wastewaters, a flow improver, a domestic cleaner, a corrosion inhibitor and a strong maintenance agent. It has been shown when the product is applied to an oil water mixture, it tends to breakdown the-molecules of oil and float them up to the water surface from where they could be easily swept or evaporated. On the other hand, this product has no side or poisonous effects on either human or marine lives. Its physical properties look like those of water. A computerized feasibility study is being carried out in order to install a big factory in Jordan with the assistance of an American chemical company. it is expected that such -a factory wilt provide Jordan and the countries of the Middle East with an effective and a cheap chemical cleaner which has .a .wide range of applications especially for marine pollution.
