Velocity distribution for the diffusion of test particles.

Abstract:
The diffusion of test particles through a field of particles whose velocity distribution function is Maxwellian, under the effect of small electric field, is considered. By means of Sonine polynomials and the Boltzmann equation two expressions for the velocity distribution were derived: one in a static electric field and another in a periodically varying field.
