Tourism growth - a panacea for poverty eradication an impact analysis based on the case study of Swat valley.

Abstract:
The paper presents economic impact analysis of tourism using data collected from Swat valley, Pakistan during 1998-2000. The aim of the paper is to show empirically that tourism can be used as an antidote to cope with the menace of poverty in the country. The paper concludes that tourism through its multiplier effect has a significant impact on income and employment opportunities thus proving to be a cure for the ills of poverty in the country.
