Abstract:
Neurobiological research emphasizes the importance of exercise in promoting brain health and preventing neurodegenerative disorders. This study aimed to investigate exercise`s neurotherapeutic potential in enhancing various aspects of human brain health. A randomized controlled trial enrolled 100 participants aged 40-60 years, divided into an exercise intervention group and a control group. The exercise intervention group followed a supervised aerobic exercise program three times per week for six months, while the control group maintained a sedentary lifestyle. Neurotrophic factors, brain volume, and cognitive function were assessed before and after the intervention. The exercise intervention group exhibited significant improvements in neurotrophic factor levels compared to the control group (p < 0.001). Neuroimaging analyses demonstrated increased gray matter volume in brain regions associated with memory and executive functions in the exercise group (p < 0.05). Cognitive assessments revealed enhanced performance in attention and memory domains for the exercise group (p < 0.01). This study provides compelling evidence supporting exercise`s neurotherapeutic effects on brain health. Regular aerobic exercise promotes neurotrophic factor secretion, neurogenesis, and structural changes in the brain, enhancing cognitive function. These findings underscore exercise`s non-pharmacological role in promoting neurobiologicaland neurotherapeutical aspects of human health. Integrating exercise into public health initiatives and clinical practices may contribute to neurodegenerative disorder prevention, management, and overall brain health improvement.
