Abstract:
A community based study was conducted to find out any association of adolescent hypertension with family history in an urban slum of Kolkata, India. 633 subjects were studied. Prevalence of hypertension was significantly higher among those having positive family history of hypertension (6.6%), as compared to others (2.1%). Odds ratio of more than 1 also revealed positive association.
