Abstract:
100-Starbro day old chicks were kept on control ration for one week. Then the chicks were divided into 3 groups; one group was fed on control feed, the other two groups were given trial feed containing 5 & 10% molassed dried beet pulp respectively in place of maize of the control feed. After 8 weeks the average gain in weight in control group was 1306.67 gms., in 5% molassed beet pulp feed group is was 1206.82 gms., and in 10% molassed beet PULP, it was 1148, 51 gms. There was no side effect or disorder of the broiler system. It has been concluded that molassed dried beet pulp can effectively and economically replace up to 10 parts by weight of maize present per 100 parts of the control feed for broilers.
