Abstract:
This work aimed to prepare Co and Cu co-doped CdS@PCN heterostructures for photocatalytic degradation of oTC. Co and Cu incorporated CdS@PCN heterostructures were synthesized by co-precipitation method. Cadmium sulphide is a visible light harvesting material and has been used for several applications. However, rapid recombination of electron-hole pairs (e-/h+), poor charge separation and low redox ability were the major drawbacks of CdS. These shortcomings were ameliorated by incorporating metal ions into the lattice of CdS to improve charge separation. The Co and Cu incorporated CdS@PCN heterostructures were prepared to tune band gap and reduce electron-hole pair recombination that could increase the photocatalytic efficiency. It was observed that the Co and Cu incorporated CdS@PCN heterostructures exhibited 96% degradation efficiency.
