An identification and validation of professional competencies possessed by agricultural extension field assistants in Faisalabad District.

Abstract:
This study was designed to identify and validate the professional competencies possessed by Field Assistants (FAs). The possessed levels of identified competencies were measured on Likert scale through interviews with Field Assistants and their concerned Agriculture Officers (AOs). The matched pair test was used to find differences between their perception. It was concluded that FAs possessed a low to an average level of professional competence. Significant differences were found between the perception of FAs and AOs for 23 competencies.
