Abstract:
Disulfoton 10G (Disyston), Endosulfon 5G (Thiodan) Phosmet 5G (Imidan), Cartap 4G (padan), Fensulfothion 5G (Terracur-P), Thiocyclam Hydrogen Oxalate 5G (Evisect) and Carbofuran 3G (Furadan) were tried at the dose of 25, 25, 25, 30, 20,.25 and 30 kg/ha, respectively for two consecutive years at Agricultural Research Station, Serai Naurang, Bannu against major sucking insect pests of sugarcane,. Disulfoton 10G (Disyston) and Carbofuran 3G (Furadan) being systemic insecticides were the best in controlling the sugarcane leaf hopper Pyrilla perpusilla, sugarcane white fly Aleurolobus barodensis and sugarcane black bug Macropes tinctus, in both the years. The highest yield was recorded in both the granular treated plots than the remaining treated plots and much higher than the untreated plots. The pest incidence and yield potential was, however, negatively correlated in next season.
