Abstract:

The distribution of adipic acid between water and n-amyl alcohol has been studied at 25 ± 1 °C. Varying the solute concentrations from 0.01 M to 0.10 M did not change the distribution ratio. Effect of temperature on distribution ratio has been studied. The percent extraction decreases as the temperature increases. Thermodynamic functions for the solute transfer have also been computed.
