Abstract:
The field of neurobiology has made significant advancements in understanding the intricate relationship between the brain and mental health. Neurotherapeutic interventions, which encompass various approaches such as pharmaceuticals, neuromodulation techniques, and cognitive interventions, have emerged as promising strategies for addressing neurological disorders and promoting overall well-being. This research-based lecture aims to provide a summary of recent developments in the neurobiological and serotherapeutic aspects of mental health. Neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and addiction, have significant impacts on health and quality of life. Advances in neuropharmacology have led to the development of novel drugs targeting specific neurotransmitter systems, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) for depression. Additionally, research has focused on elucidating the neurobiological mechanisms underlying these disorders to identify potential therapeutic targets. Neuroimaging techniques, such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), have provided valuable insights into the neural circuitry involved in neuropsychiatric conditions, aiding in the development of personalized treatment approaches.
