Abstract:

An analysis has been carried out of the variation of surface tension with time on an expanding water sheet containing surface active agents. It has been found that as a result of the linear expansion of the sheet the surface tension reduces to approximately half as compared to an undisturbed surface. A theoretical equation has been derived and evidences have been presented for its validity.
