Abstract:
The study was conducted to determine the effect of toasting on the nutritive value of Daincha seeds (Susbania aculeata) for broiler feeding. For the purpose Daincha was toasted for 60 minutes at 105°C. The effect was observed in terms of weight gain, feed consumption and feed efficiency of the chicks. The results indicated that the chicks fed toasted Daincha at the level of 5% showed the maximum improvement in the weight gain, feed consumption and feed efficiency while the higher levels adversely affected the chick performance. It revealed that the toasting of Daincha partially alleviated the growth depressive factor of Daincha.
