Abstract:
During the period under review i, , n00 sq. miles area of districts Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Chitral, Dadu, Lasbela and Sibbi had been mapped. Studies and investigations were made on the following mineral deposits. Work was done on fluorite, copper, lead, iron and manganese in Baluchistan. Whereas in Sind, sodium carbonate, limestone, dolonite, celestite and strontium sulphate; in N.W.F.P., iron, emerald, copper, ruby and pyrite; in Punjab, bauxite/high alumina clay and phosphate and in Azad Kashmir pyrite and phosphate were studied. Geological studios were also made of Hanna River Gorue, Hindu Bagh-sharing area, Chakdara-Chitral; Gilgit Agency and Pitti Creek. Geophysical studies were made at Quetta Valley, Tranol Rawalpindi Gadap-Babarband, and Kachi Plain, Maivand Valley, Gadani Bay and khushab to Tarbela. Mineral exploration schemes are currently underway in Baluchistan.
