Abstract:
Total and differential leucocytes counts were determined in normal and cimetidine, ranitidine and tiotidine treated albino rats. The drugs cimetidine, ranitidine and tiotidine were given intramuscularly at the recommended human dose levels i.e. 5.71 mg; 2.14 mg and 1.42 mg/kg body weight respectively twice daily with an interval of twelve hours for five weeks. The data obtained showed that tiotidine caused an increase in the total leucocytic counts and cimetidine increased the number of monocytes only. Ranitidine had no effect on any of these parameters.
