Abstract:
Zinc showed no consistent effect on Fe solubility in any soil. Only its application of 5 ppm to Kamalia and 10 ppm to Thikriwala soil tended to increase DTPA-extractable Fe slightly (Main effects, P 0.05). These studies thus indicated that Zn application may have little adverse effect on to solubility in calcareous soils. The reported Zn-Fe interaction causing Fe chlorosis in crop plants, appears to operate either at their absorption mechanism or within plants.
