Abstract:
Tenax GC, a new porous polymer based on 2,6- diphenyl-para-phenylene oxide has been examined using the techniques of thermogravimetry, surface chemistry and gas chromatography. Thermal stability has been determined thermogravimetrically and surface area measurements were made by using nitrogen, benzene, n- ane and trichloroethylene sorptives. Significant differences in surface area are noted for the same sorbent with various sorbates. Heats of sorption for a range of organic compounds on Tenax GC have also been determined from gas chromatographic retention data.
