Abstract:
Wireless local loop provides a wireless means of accessing a public telephone network from a fixed location without the high infrastructure cost required to support roaming and handoff in a cellular system. WLL (Wireless Local Loop) will be most widely deployed in developing countries where they need to connect the rural and backward areas of the countries. While on other hand the wireline network of telephone is not possible or more costly or difficult to install the entire telephone network. WLL technology is increasingly replacing current technology which cover narrow band, broadband and intermediate-speed IP-oriented networks. It has been proved to be cost effective for the local telephone network access. The potential of WLL can be exploited for tremendous economical and social expansions of telecommunications services and deregulation to create a bright future for wireless service providers. The WLL will be more beneficial by replacing it with fixed wired-line. The potential market is vast, especially in the industrializing nations where the demand for high quality, rapidly deployable telecom service is the most acute. The winners in the new WLL marketplace will be those that provide customers, end-users and network service operators alike, with the best combination of cost-effectiveness, flexibility, modularity, and advanced features. The major objective of this paper is to analyze the technologies and their feasibility according to the environment. The implementation of this technology will be beneficial by exploiting the full potential usage, cost effectiveness and flexibility by integrating with newer coming technologies. Though it is clear that there are potentially profitable applications of the wireless technology, the focus of this study will be mainly on residential telephone service as well as commercial.
