Abstract:
Potent adrenergic blocking agent, dibenamine (N, Ndibenzyl-B-chloroethylamine) has been shown to inhibit trypsin in irreversible manner The reaction occurs at near neutral pH between functional groups on the enzyme and an alkylating species derived from dibenamine in acid solution. The reaction is fast and complete inhibition of the enzyme occurs at a certain molar ratio of the reactant.
