Abstract:
Preauricular sinus is usually symptomatic in children and young adults. Treatment is indicated when it gives rise to discharge or abscess formation. This paper presents a very unusual presentation. To the best of the author's knowledge an impacted foreign body in a preauricular sinus has not been reported previously. Surgical excision of the sinus and its tract under general anesthesia using supra-auricular approach was carried out. The patient was seen six months after the surgery and there was no signs of recurrence.
