Abstract:

In this paper we first propose a new nonparametric estimator for the continuous distribution function (cdf) based on record values and compare the bias and mean squared error (Mse) of quantile estimator using our cdf estimator with that of random sample. Then we introduce a goodness of fit test for normality based on record values. The critical points and powers for some alternatives are obtained by simulation.
