Abstract:
Antixinosis studies were carried out on eight genotypes of canola against mustard aphids Lipaphis erysimi Kalt. Dunkeld (11.64 aphids/plant) showed highest resistance followed by Zafar 2000 (13.77 aphids/plant). Low levels of resistance were shown by Western (14.21 aphids/plant) and Can. II. (15.37 aphids plant). Local variety Shirallee (16.47 aphids/plant), Abuseen (16.99 aphids/plant) and Bulbul 98 (17.08 aphids/plant) were found susceptible. Variety 19-H (17.08 aphids/plant) was highly susceptible. Aphid activity started at the end of February and continued until start of April reaching climax during mid-end of March with positive correlation with temperature and negative correlation with relative humidity and rainfall.
