Abstract:
An improved spectrophotometric procedure is described for the determination of micro levels of ascorbic acid. The procedure is based on the reduction of copper(II) to copper(I) which gives stable orange coloured complex with neocuproine. This complex was further reacted with perchlorate ions to get the [Cu(l)neocuproine) [perchlorate] ion-associate complex, which was extracted in ethylacetate and absorbance was measured at 456 nm.
