Abstract:
A model of oil and gas occurrence in the Moesic platform Romania shows that the rocks of Pliocene containing gas only are situated in the preparatory stage of petroleum formation. The rocks of Miocene-Mesozoic fall in the principal zone of petroleum formation and contain oil and gas deposits. In paleozoic the rocks pass into the final stage where only gas is present. This correlates well with the modern concepts of oil occurrence as proposed by various authors.
