Abstract:
The results of the study regarding yield and nodulation behaviour of chickpea cultivars treated with P and N as a starter revealed that the germination count per unit area 1 x 1.5 m. were not affected significantly both by the cultivars and fertilizer treatments. Number of nodules. fresh and dry weight of nodules per plant. 100-pod weight. 100-pod seed weight and 100-seed weight were influenced flavourably both by the cultivars and fertilizer treatments. Number of pods, weight of pods. weight of seeds per plant and seed yield ha-1 increased significantly with the fertilization at the rate of 10 kg N - 50 Kg P205 ha-1 . but the differences within cultivars were non-significant.
