The lac insect of Java and another from Sri Lanka each as requiring its own genus.

Abstract:
In Java there is the lac insect Kerria javanensis. It forms a cluster of spheroidal scale of lac. Its symbiote is unknown. It is unlike any Indian lac insect which belongs to the genus Kerrie. The Javanese insect is to be placed in a new genus and named Javlaka javanensis. In Sri Lanka there is the lac insect which Green illustrates and now bears the name Kerria conchiferata. It never forms an encrustation and does not grow like a pear which Indian lac insects do. It is being placed in a new genus and named Ceylaka conchiferata.
