Abstract:
The outcome of treatment for trigeminal neuralgia was evaluated in 350 patients treated with medication, alcohol injection, cryotherapy and peripheral neurectomy. Out of 350 patients 115 were treated with medication, 104 had peripheral neurectomy, 97 alcohol injections and 34 by cryosurgery. Pain free period was maximum after neurectomy and medication followed by cryotherapy and alcohol injection apart from their complications. Out come data can be used to help new patients make informed choices about their treatment under local anaesthesia.
