Abstract:
Traffic flow control techniques implemented in ISDN do help the network save from being totally throttled or coming to a standstill but they have some adverse effects of time delay, extra interpretation work by the nodes and many other effects of the same kind. Such effects have been discussed and their impact on the network performance has been studied in depth in this paper. It has been shown how the troubles causing performance degradation and deadlocks can be eliminated by suitably applying network flow control and routing control techniques.
