A new species of the genus Hoploplema enderlein (Anoplura: Hoplopleuridae) parasitizing Funambulus penrkiriti Wroughton (Rodentia: Scuridae)

Abstract:
A new species Hoplopleura ranae is described from Funambulus pennanti Wroughton from Shahadpur (Sind), Pakistan and is characterized by having broadly spindle shaped sternal plate, paratergites II to VI with two long and nearly equal setae, apical angles of 11 to VI acutely produced into points, VII and VIII devoid of lobes with 2 very long and equal setae, basal plate lunar shaped at apex and pseudopenis bluntly pointed towards tip and not curved dorsally.
