Abstract:
Relatively simple and selective procedure is described for the spectrophotometric determination of 0. 002-0. 095% w/w zirconium in low-alloy steels. The method is based on the extraction of zirconium in butano with Chlorophosphonazo DAL, i. e. , the dianiliede of 3, 6- bis(P-Chloro-O-phosphonophenylazo)-Chrometropic acid solution at PH 5 and the complex is measured at 670 nm. The serious interference of iron is prevented by masking with phosphoric acid. Potential applications of the analysis are indicated.
