Abstract:

The paper examines the impact of the Russian invasion on Ukraine's grape and wine industry under martial law. It highlights the challenges the industry faces, including vineyard damage, losses for winemakers, and disruptions in production and export. The study aims to analyze the performance of the grape and wine industry, assess the effects of Russian aggression on the Ukrainian and global wine markets, and investigate threats and opportunities for Ukrainian wine enterprises. It also examines state and professional support policies and proposes measures to restore and enhance the industry's efficiency, particularly in the context of Ukraine's potential future EU membership. The research uses statistical analysis, export assessments, and comparative methods to evaluate trends and opportunities for the industry. It identifies key factors supporting the Ukrainian wine industry, including state support, competitiveness, foreign partnerships, and integration with suppliers. The paper emphasizes the importance of developing state support measures, restoring export potential, and implementing EU standards in viticulture and winemaking. The author concludes that urgent action is needed to safeguard the industry from ongoing crisis impacts and ensure its recovery and growth in the future.
