Abstract:

Heavy Vesicular-Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (VAM) infection was present in Mar-chantia polymorpha. Extensive aseptate mycelial networks were observed in the tissues of thallus. Cells of the thallus were heavily filled by the vesicles and young arbuscules. Vesicles were rarely observed in the rhizoids. Tuberculated rhizoids did not show any infection.
