Abstract:
A study was conducted in the Department of Agronomy, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad during kharif season of 2002 and 2003. The treatments comprised two hybrids viz. Hysun-33 (standard height) and SF-187 (semidwarf) arid five phosphorus levels (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg/ha). Two years mean values showed that significantly higher achene yield and achene protein content were recorded in Hysun33 while oil contents were higher in SF-187. In case of P levels, oil contents did not show any effect but protein contents differed significantly by varying phosphorus levels. Also, P levels had no significant effect on fatty acid profile but both hybrids differed significantly from each other in fatty acid composition.
