Abstract:
The neodymium is extracted into Chloroform with 01% 5-7 dichloro-8-hydroxy quinoline solution at pH 9.5 and the complex measured spectrophotometrically at 582 nm. The procedure is relatively simple which can be carried out on a routine basis. Results reported cover the range of 0.225-11.2% w/w neodymium in certain non-ferrous materials.
