Uptake of estrogen by the uterus of albino rat in presence of copper intra-uterine device.

Abstract:
Effects of estrogen on uterine weight, glycogen. protein and RNA content in ovariectomized albino rats bearing Copper Intra Uterine Device are observed. A single hormone dose is enough to cause a substantial increase to these parameters even as early as 10 days after insertion of the Cu-IUD. Regional differences in the response of the uterus are indiscernable.
