Abstract:
C.R.D. is an economically important disease of poultry. Attempts were made to study the bacterial causes of disease which were based on isolation of etiologic agents from lungs, nasal discharge and air sacs of the birds showing characteristic symptoms of R.C.D. Various pathogens isolated from the different organs of affected birds were Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus. Attempts to isolate Mycoplasma gallisepticum failed. The isolates failed to produce the disease on experimental inoculation but definitely complicated the disease picture already present.
