Abstract:
The effect of different phosphatic fertilizers reinforced with farm yard manure on some chemical properties of soil was studied under irrigated condition at the NWFP Agricultural University farm using maize as a test crop. The source of fertilizer used were diammonium phosphate, nitrophos and single super phosphate soil under study was calcareous with a pH ranging from 7.8-7.9. The soil pH was not affected significantly by the application of any phosphatic fertilizer reinforced with farm yard manure at silking stage. However, pH was decreased significantly by the application of DAP and SSP alongwith farm yard manure at harvesting stage of the crop. The organic matter content of soil increased significantly by the application of farm yard manure both at silking and harvesting stage. Cation exchange capacity of soil was increased significantly only at harvesting stage by the application of fertilizer applied alone as well reinforced with farm yard manure. P content of soil was increased significantly by the application of SSP alongwith farm yard manure only at harvesting stage. 632 Plant Injuries Diseases Pests Crop Damage Protection
