Abstract:

Zinc-electroplates are. generally chromated to improve their corrosion resistance. Passivation layer so formed may be as thick as 0.1 pm, and may exhibit characteristic color as well (bluish-white, yellow, iridescent or black). This article reviews recent formulations of various chromating solutions used for this purpose.
