Abstract:
The objective of the study was to identify the common patterns of benign thyroid lesions in the northern region of Saudi Arabia. Methodology: This study retrospectively analyzed the medical records of 82 patients with thyroid lesions. The records were obtained from the Department of Pathology at King Salman Hospital in Hai'l, Northern Saudi Arabia. The data collection period was from November 2019 to November 2020. The predominant lesion observed was colloid goiter, followed by a follicular adenoma, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and Toxic goiter, accounting for 60%, 21%, 16%, and 3% of cases, respectively. Benign thyroid lesions are prevalent in Saudi Arabia, with a growing occurrence of colloidal goiter. Benign thyroid lesions are more commonly found in women who are relatively younger adults.
