Algae from the water supplies of district Mardan, Pakistan.

Abstract:
The algae .from the water supplies of such canals, streams (natural), tube wells and open wells of District Mardan were studied in detail. A total of thirty one genera with fifty nine species were found out. These genera belonged to classes: Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Xanthophyceae and Rhodophyceae. Chlorophyceae was the most common group. Xanthophyceae and Rhodophyceae were represented by a single species.
