Abstract:
Forty four patients of hypertension were thoroughly investigated. Large number were suffering from essential hypertension and majority had mild to moderate hypertension. All the patients were started with Amlodipine and were followed upto twelve weeks. Amlodipine aloniaowas found to be very effective and safe antihypertensive in mild to moderate hypertension with few transitory side effects like headache, flushing and heaviness in head. In severe hypertension combination of Amlodipine with Beta- Blocker was very effective.
