Central statistical system in Pakistan and Canada.

Abstract:
Nine different statistical agencies in Pakistan are described and the functions of Central Statistical Office are given in detail. The fields of work in C.S.O. cover (1) Foreign Trade Statistics (monthly, quarterly & annual), (2) National Income Estimation (annual), (3) Price and cost of living statistics (weekly, monthly and annual (4) Industrial Statistics (monthly & annual), and (5) Labour Statistics. Socio-economic surveys (sample surveys & census) are also conducted r by C.S.O. Comparison is made with the, Dominian Bureau of Statistics (D.B.S.), Canada, and the functions of D.B.S. are briefly discussed.
