Abstract:
Existing Glover-Dumm equation predicts transient watertable drawdown for a uniform aquifer having sufficient depth to the barrier. In the Glover-Dumm equation watertable fall is predicted by an exponential function, neglecting the second and higher order terms. In the present study, two more terms of the exponential function were added resulting in appreciable improvement in the equation for its application to a shallow aquifer. When verified with field data, improvement in correlation coefficient was higher for the results of the improved equation as compared with the results of the original equation.
