Abstract:
This research work deals with the systematics of basidiomycetous macrofungi from Behaa valley, Swat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. During this research work, the samples were collected and identified on the basis of morphological and anatomical characterization. A total of 21 species were identified. In this work, basidiomycota was represented by 17 genera belonging to 14 families; Agaricaceae, Cortinariaceae, Hydnangiaceae, Hygrophoraceae, Hymenogastraceae, Incertaesedis, Inocybaceae, Mycenaceae, Omphalotaceae, Physalacriaceae, Russulaceae, Strophariaceae, Suillaceae and Tricholomataceae. Among these, genus Bovista and Cortinarius were represented by one species each; Bovista himalaica and Cortinarius uliginosus. Gymnopilus was represented by two species; G. penetrans and G. swaticus. Gymnopus, Hebeloma, Hygrophorus were represented by one species each; Gymnopus subcompanulatus nom. prov., Hebeloma mesophaeum and Hygrophorus gliocyclus. Inocybe was represented by two species; I. fulva nom. prov.and I. swatica nom. prov. Laccaria, Lepiota, Leucpaxillus and Melanoleuca were each represented by one species; Laccaria purpureophylla nom. prov., Lepiota granulatanom. prov., Leucopaxillus aurantiofuscus nom. Prov and Melanoleuca dirensis. Mycena was represented by two species; M. laceratanom. prov. and M. pura. Genus Pholiota was represented by one species; P. malakandensis. Pseudosperma was represented by two species; P. flavorimosum and P. pakistanense. Russula, Suillus and Xerula were each represented by one species; Russula cyanoxantha, Suillus bovinus and Xerula glabra nom. prov. these species were identified on morpho-anatomical basis. This study includes eight new species. This study will provide a basis for future studies of macrofungi comprising their medical properties and edible use.
