Abstract:
Ten wheat cultivars, after milling into flour, were assessed for their susceptibility to Tribolium castaneum (Herbst) on the basis of mean progeny developed and percent weight loss under controlled laboratory conditions. It was found that none of the cultivars was completely resistant to the infestation of this pest; however, their susceptibility varied significantly. Blue-Silver was recorded as the most resistant variety followed by M- 546, Pari-73, Mexi_Pak-65 and Triticale 157-4, wherease variety TN15 was found as highly susceptible cultivar followed by CNOHD-832, Triticale-77, Sandal and Chenab-70.
