Abstract:
There are more than 20,000 species of wasps. Some larger wasps are known as hornets. The chemistry and pharmacology of the venoms of these insects is still in an evolutionary stage. The venoms are likely to prove valuable therapeutic agents in allergic diseases caused by histamine as well as against wasp or scorpion stings.
