Abstract:
The present study was aimed to investigate the contribution of personality types (high Type A, average Type A or Type B) in traffic accidents. The sample consisted of 119 male drivers, from different areas of Karachi. Personality types were assessed through self-administration of Anjum-Khalilque Type-A Scale (AKTAS, 1991) and self-reports of traffic accidents. The result did not indicate significant difference in number of accidents in different personality types. It is concluded that the personality types i.e. the high Type A, average Type A or Type B does not show a predictive pattern for higher number of accidents in Karachi.
