Abstract:
Twenty isolates of Fusarium fujikuroi from Nueva Ecija and Laguna provinces in the Philippines were characterized by Universally Primed Polymerase Chain Reaction (UP-PCR) using AA2M2 and L45 primer. Sixty-six unique banding patterns were generated and a dendrogram was created. High degree of variation was observed among the isolates. At 90% similarity, fifteen clusters were formed, suggesting that sexual reproduction plays a significant role in generating variation of F. fujikuroi populations in the field.
