Abstract:
Vesicular-Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (VAM) infection was found in the rhizoid (60%) and thallus (40%) portions of Marchantia nepalensis. Coiled internal hypae, arbuscules and vesicles of different shapes and sizes were present both in the simple rhizoids and thallus. Vesicles with prominent oil globules as well as with smooth contents were observed in the cells of the thallus. The tuberculated rhizoids did not show any infection.
