Abstract:
A computer model was developed for the sinter charge calculation in order to optimize the sintering process and to minimize the cost of sinter. Possibilities of utilization of waste materials were looked into. A sinter charge has been proposed using the small amounts of mill scale, sludge, flue dust and lime. The benefits gained are the partial substitution of expensive iron ore and flux material, decreased consumption of fuel, and the control over the atmospheric pollution.
